Explorium of Lexington
The Explorium, also known as the Lexington Children’s Museum, will celebrate its twentieth year in 2010. The Explorium has had but one home, Victorian Square. It is the only children’s museum in all of Kentucky and has as its mission to create a fun and dynamic hands-on learning environment that inspires imagination and curiosity.
Besides the permanent exhibits at the Explorium, the Exploriumn hosts traveling exhibits such as “Living in Space”. Annual community events include Museum-GO-Round (a children’s street art fair), Bugs all Day, Reptile Rendezvous, summer camps, art clubs, Native American week and Holidays Around the World.
